the blue sky. Grass and moss growing in the crevices of the rock. The yellow gorse visible on the hill opposite and the

The tide having withdrawn a long way out from the shore the vastness of the exposed beach is exposed. The light shimmering
in one of the many pools along the beach. In the distance stands Southerness Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse was taken out of use in
the mid 1930's. The lighthouse was built in 1749 and is, unusually, square in shape.

A seaweed covered groyne reaching out as the cold North Sea breaks over it. The groyne reflected in the water left by the receeding
sea. The water slightly misty in appearance with a moody English sky above. This picture is a great gift idea as it is always
 commented on by the ladies.

Coastal Living

This is definitely coastal living! A large, comfortable house set into the hillside at Tintagel. The white walls and
the yellow gorse in the foreground bright in the sunlight. The dark blue of the Atlantic ocean against the lighter blue of the
 sky and wispy cloud.

Standing in Southern Scotland looking across the Solent when the tide is well and truely out. The beach wet with small pools
of water glistening in the light. The Cumbrian hills in front of you with a thick cloud cover above them. The multi-coloured cloud
appearing thick enough to touch and almost too heavy to stay in the sky. A break in the cloud gives a view of the blue sky above the
cloud and allows the sunlight to shine through and illuminate a small portion of the hills.

Mullion Cove, part of the beautiful Cornish Coast. Rocks standing just outside Mullion harbour creating a gulley that the
sea rushes through with each high tide causing a bubbling, frothing mass of white water. The vivid, eye catching natural colours of the
coast, the light blue sky with clouds in a wispy, washboard style stretched across, contrasts with the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Atlantic stretching away into the distance, the Cornish coast in the area of Mousehole just visible.

The rugged Cornish coast at the village of Polperro. This part of Cornwall being designated An Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coast line is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
The picture of a cove, the water so still it mirrors everything around it. The overhanging rock and the clouds in the
sky. The water so clear that the bottom of the pool can be seen in places. Although the waves can be seen breaking on
the rocks, the rock barrier at the end of the cove protecting the cove sufficient to keep the water perfectly still.

Padstow RNLI

The odd, lone house sitting on the cliff top watching over the rolling seas as Padstow RNLI station, independent
of the UK coastguard, sits waiting for the call. Storm clouds roll past as the waves of the Atlantic crash against the cliff face.
Just a hint of what the brave volunteers of the RNLI put to sea in.

Proud Parent

The brilliant white of a majestic, graceful swan, proudly gliding along the river in front of the young cygnet. In contrast
to the perfectly preened parent the young cygnet still has the dark downy feathers and inquisitive look of youth. The water lillies in
the foreground just breaking up the reflections of the birds. Swans naturally look proud but you can almost see the additional pride of
 swimming with her young.

The Local

The evening of a beautiful August day draws closer. The heat of the day having receeded the cattle wander down to their
local watering hole for a refreshing, cool drink from the river Nene. Some choose to carry on grazing while others watch the people
on the opposite bank. The blue sky gradually becoming lost behind the whispy cloud as it builds. The river, although not perfectly still,
gently reflects the trees, clouds and cattle.

wind with the sun highlighting the golden glow of the ripened portions. The path stretches off across the field leading your eye,
and you, to the gap in the next hedgerow. If you stare and listen carefully you can hear the hiss of the wind in the crop.

Breaking Point

An old tree that has come to the end of it's life. Finally the ravages of the elements became too much and the tree snapped,
falling to the ground. Other trees stand behind it growing from the green grass witha blue sky overhead.

Close up picture of the vibrancy of nature! The gorgeous red/yellow/orange of the plant appearing to come out of the page
at you owing to the extremely constricted focus. We spotted it growing in a church yard that we happened to be passing and the fading
sunlight of that day really brought out the beautiful colours.

Fresh

Close up picture of the year's fresh blossom. The foremost flower crisp and clear while the other flowers blur into the
background. The clean white of the petals, the green fruit pastille in appearance centre with the fine filaments reaching out to project
the pollen carrying anthers into the air. Seen at a distance in numbers the blossom is very attractive. When viewed closely each flower
is a wonder in it's own right.

on her face with a loving glint in her eye. One of the youngsters, getting hungry and restless, stands in front of her to observe what
we are doing. One of the others with it's face raised as though enjoying the first of the spring sun. Minutes after this was taken all

The wonderful colours of autumn displayed in the trees. The soft sunlight filtering through lighting large and small

Frosted

A dilapidated storage shed with an attractive local stone wall, sits nestled amongst glistening trees on a beautifully cold
winters morning. The temperature having dropped to its lowest this winter the whole area looked as though it was covered in a light
dusting of fine snow. The weight of the frost pulling the finer branches straight down. A weak winter sun lighting the land causing
the frost to sparkle in the trees and bushes. As the very gentle warmth of the sun shone down the frost fell from the trees like icing
 sugar.

Winter Sparkle

Winter is not all bad! When the conditions are just right the season can produce some stunning scenery to match the best
days of spring and summer. The temperature the night before and this particular day had dropped to a record low. This had caused all
moisture in the air to freeze and combined with the sunny morning it made for a beautiful day. Frost had formed on all the branches
of this tree and the sunlight made it sparkle. The exceptionally clear blue sky being a perfect backdrop to the tree. The foreground
grass and trees in the distance also glazed with frost. The sheep in the next field having to eat frozen food this day!

cold making the water, the sky and the cloud, really blue. The bench seat and some whispy bushes silhouetted against the golden
water. The trees on the other side of the water silhouetted against the sky.

Petals

A close up picture of the wonderful shades and shadows of a white rose. The centre of the rose just seems to pull your
eye into the picture. When your eye escapes, notice the soft, delicate curves of the petals, each petal always seeming to have another
wrapped within it. Look carefully and you will see the feint capillaries running along the petals. This picture was created for
a female friend. Obviously one to consider if you are trying to find a picture gift for a woman in your life!

A close up picture showing the interconnectivity of the fine hairs on the head of a dandelion. The multitude of hair hubs

Picture created on the beach near to Southerness Point, south west Scotland. The beach was absolutely littered with empty

Close up picture of a Spindle Tree leaf in autumn. The picture was taken with the leaf still on the tree but the

A particularly cold day during the winter of 2010, the temperature down at -8 degrees on the morning this picture was
taken. Any moisture in the air had frozen to whatever it was near, making everyday objects, such as this wire fence, very attractive.
The ice crystals growing out from whatever they had formed on.

The head and wonderful colours of a spring Daffodil. These beautiful flowers are the sign that spring is upon us for the year.
Villages have long planted large quantities of Daffodils in their approach verges. Town roundabouts now spring (no pun intended!) to
life with the colour of these flowers. The world seems a cheerier place once the Daffodils have appeared!

A beautiful sunny day on the Grand Union canal, close to Stoke Bruerne. A crisp, bright and fresh narrow boat is moored
while being treated to some more TLC. One of the boat's passengers, man's best friend, was sitting at the rear of the boat until we
approached. Either feeling the need to guard his home or to pose, he jumped down and stood proudly by the boat. The sun filtering
through the hedgerow and dappling the canal footpath around him.

Close up photo of the greased rachet mechanism that raises and lowers the water release gates of a canal lock gate.
The canal stretches away to the next lock gate in the series where a narrowboat has just exited the next lock in the series. This
series is just along the canal from the well known Stoke Bruerne, a tourist attraction.

A peaceful canal side scene. The towpath and canal rounding a gentle bend, heading towards the well known Stoke Bruerne.
Narrowboats moored alongside the towpath, the blue sky, fluffy white cloud and canal side foliage perfectly reflected in the calm
 water of the canal.

Large grey boulders in the foreground with lush green foliage just behind. The cool blue water of Ennerdale leading
the eye to one of the magnificent Lake District hills. The shadow of a passing cloud visible on the hill with a clear blue
sky behind. Other hills 'just' visible in the far distance.

Mellbreak hill perfectly reflected in Crummock Water, Lake District, Cumbria.
A traditional dry stone wall in the foreground with the beautiful yellow of gorse in the sunlight. We were so lucky to capture
this image. Within minutes of the image being made the water had rippled and the reflection had gone.

Picture this, you are standing on the shore of Ennerdale Water. You are looking through the limbs of a beautifully
shaped tree, it's roots poking through the path, as you gaze across the cool blue of the water towards the hills.

The foreshore rocks, clear water and shimmering reflections creating an arrow head pointing
across Ennerdale Water to the hills of The Lake District. Some wispy cloud and some larger cloud. A setting so beautiful it's almost
 surreal.

Mellbreak hill perfectly reflected in Crummock Water, Lake District, Cumbria. The bushes in front of the lake and the
branch of a tree in the top right corner. We were so lucky to capture this image. Within minutes of the image being made the water
had rippled and the reflection had gone. We couldn't make our minds up which viewpoint we prefered and so offer both!

Valley

The Cumbrian Fells, looking along a valley between the hills known as Mellbreak. One end of Crummock Water can be seen
at the end of the valley. The fluffy white clouds just hanging in the air, the watery yellow sun casting their shadows onto the
hillside and lighting the scene wonderfully. Just staring at the hills feeling very insignificant in the vastness of it all you really can
imagine the massive glaciers that carved out this magnificent scenery.

Surreal

A perfect blue sky albeit a little threatening with the odd dark cloud lurking. You walk the path across the green fields
from the farm and begin the long ascent up the fell towards High Crag. As you look around, Buttermere is so blue, the grass and trees
so green that the picture before you is so perfect it could almost be your imagination if you were not present and looking at it.
The Lake District, a truely beautiful part of the UK.

Hill Path

A beautiful blue sky with small, white, whispy cloud here and there. The rocky hill path running away from you to the
bottom of the hill. The hill to your left looking like the glacier ice has only just retreated, the shadows and stone making the hill
appear as though it has just been excavated by a massive earth mover. The path continues across the floor of the valley towards the
beautiful blue water of firstly Buttermere and then onto Crummock Water.

Autumnal

Buttermere water in the Lake District to the right, Buttermere Fell in the distance, the whispy white cloud curling it's
fingers around the fell. To the fore of the picture the sunlight filtering through the trees, lighting the exposed tree roots in the
bank and highlighting the beautiful autumnal colour of the bracken and just showing the changing colour in the trees. The footpath
already wet enough to be a small trickle even before the onset of winter.

Behold

On the shore of Ennerdale Water, Cumbria, in the Lake District National Park. The water so still it creates wonderful
mirror images of the Cumbrian fells behind. The fell's reflection creating an arch in the water that keeps drawing the eye back to it.
Old trees , almost in silhouette, leaning out over the water in the foreground. Light grey cloud over a pale blue sky allowing a little
light through onto the fells. So much beauty to take in the eye finds it hard to keep still!

Deadwood

Rustic autumn colour showing in the leaves of the tree overhanging Buttermere water. Dead wood lying in the water
with it's branches reaching to the sky through the surface. The Lake District hill, known as Dodd, hidden in the mist in the
background. The shore line curving around and into the water before turning away again. A wonderful October day in the Lake
 District.
